My Story (in brief)

Hey,

I'm Jon Doolan and I'm a adventure books addict!

I've been teaching for 15 years now. Everyday, I would look into the faces of the excited and engaged children in my class and think, “You know what? I can do better than this. I don’t want to inspire just 30 kids. I want to inspire more people!”

So I started writing down my adventures, big and small. They turned into a blog and couple of books, which was brilliant.

Then I started meeting people. Lots of people. And they all had one thing in common. They all had inspirational stories to tell (usually much more exciting than my own!). I'd ask if they'd write their adventures up into a book but I always got the same answer. 'I'd love to... one day.'

It made me sad because I knew how easy it is to self-publish your own book. I'd done it. Twice!

Then I thought, “I can help these people. I can teach them how to self-publish their own books.” I realised that the more people I helped to get their own adventure books out there, the more I could satisfy my insatiable habit of reading adventure books.

And so the Adventure Writers' Club was born. In between my normal day job (I’m still a teacher) I now run the Adventure Author Community, write books and edit other authors’ tales. The aim is always to help other adventurers turn their expeditions into epic books and use them to grow their name in the adventure world and, hopefully, make some money at the same time.

If you'd like to join the community, ask any questions or just send me a nice message then email me at jon@jondoolan.com and I'll do my best to get back to you (I read all my emails and reply to as many as I can).

You can always get more money. You can’t get more time.
